HISTORY

Emery & Webb, Inc., was opened in 1886, the same year the Statue of Liberty was erected in New York City harbor as a symbol of freedom and heritage. As the agency has prospered and grown, our approach remains to listen first, then present our clients with the best options for their insurance programs, assisting them in the achievement of their personal and business goals.

In 1997 Emery & Webb joined forces with The Stearns Agency, a company that shares these fundamental values. In 1999, new mergers with the McBurnie Agency of Rhinebeck, New York and the E.V. Howard Agency of Poughkeepsie, New York continued the expansion to form one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the Hudson Valley. Since 2004, three additional agencies have been added to the Emery & Webb family, including the John V. Forman Agency of Beacon, New York; the Kane Agency of Rhinebeck, New York; and Stephen J. Sipos & Sons, Inc of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Now a fifth generation family business, Emery & Webb, Inc., is dedicated to serving the public’s insurance needs for protection with integrity. We remain committed to providing professional customer service while promoting competitive, comprehensive property and casualty insurance coverage throughout the Hudson Valley. That corporate and individual commitment stretches across the United States. Today, through its unique affinity sponsored insurance programs, Emery & Webb, serves clients in almost all states.
